Duluth is located just 20 miles from downtown Atlanta and proudly follows their motto, ‘Capture the Spirit of Good Living’. The first female mayor, for the State of Georgia, was elected in Duluth in 1923, Alice Harrell Strickland. Originally named Howell’s Crossing, Congress changed the name in 1871 after funding a north-south railway from Duluth, Minnesota.
Forbes Magazine ranks Duluth 26th on the ‘America’s Best Places To Move’ list and Businessweek magazine recognized it as the Best Affordable Suburb in Georgia.
Duluth covers 10 square miles and is home to 26,600 residents.
